Education and Incentives

Mission

The Education and Incentives Office offers assistance to Soldiers, veterans and dependents to best utilize available National Guard benefits to facilitate their civilian education goals.


Organization

Staffing is typically comprised of an Education Services Officer (ESO), NCOIC, Incentives Manager, GI Bill Manager, State TA Manager, and Regional Education Services Specialist.  They stand ready to assist with the following programs:

  • Civilian Education Counseling
  • State Tuition Assistance
  • Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA)
  • GI Bill (e.g. Montgomery GI Bills and Post 9-11 GI Bill)
  • Montgomery GI Bill “Kicker”
  • Post 9-11 GI Bill Transfer of Education Benefits (TEB)
  • Student Loans Repayment Program (SLRP)
  • Chaplain Loan Repayment Program (CLRP)
  • Bonuses pertaining to the Selected Reserve Incentive Program(SRIP)
  • Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLR)
  • Medical/Dental Student Stipend Program ((MDSSP)
  • Specialized Training Assistance Program (STRAP)
  • Special Pay Bonuses for Health Professionals
  • Tests administered weekly include: Defense Language Proficiency Exams (DLPT), Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB), Selection Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT), and the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT). 
  • Outreach program – designed to develop partnerships with traditional brick and mortar schools with-in the commonwealth. These partnerships provide a collaborative effort to provide educational opportunities to service members and their families through scholarships, reduced tuition rates and course programs developed to support service member’s needs.
