Airmen and Soldiers from the Kentucky National Guard evacuated 296 residents from two housing complexes surrounded by floodwaters in Martin County, Kentucky, Feb. 17, 2025.

The 138th Field Artillery Brigade will redesignate as the 138th Operational Fires Command in support of the U.S. Army V Corps, located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The OFC will be the first unit of its kind in a pilot aimed to solve challenges faced while applying lethal and non-lethal fires in large scale combat operations.

Seventeen Soldiers from the 223rd Military Police Company, 198th Military Police Battalion, 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, marched with their rucksacks from the Stalag Luft III prisoner of war camp in Zagan, Poland to Spremberg, Germany. The three-day, 55-mile journey followed the exact route of Allied troops who were captured as prisoners during World War II and evacuated from German POW camps on January 27, 1945.

Leaders from the Kentucky National Guard and Eastern Kentucky University met on the Richmond campus to establish a formal partnership to support Guardsmen and their family members pursuing higher education, Mar. 26, 2025. Four drill sergeants from Kentucky’s Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) augmented active component drill sergeants from the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, July 21-Aug. 4, 2024. Twenty Soldiers graduated the Unit Retention Non-Commissioned Officer Course conducted by the Mobile Training Team from Professional Educational Center’s (PEC) Strength Maintenance Training Battalion at Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center (WHFRTC), July 29-Aug. 9, 2024. The two-week course equipped Unit Retention NCOs with the knowledge and skills to assist commanders with managing retention and attrition.

The group, composed of local business and community leaders, explored the Guard’s role in state government and emergency response efforts, including disaster relief in Western and Eastern Kentucky.

Four Soldiers from the 202nd Army Band performed at the Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, hosted by The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own," Jan. 29-Feb. 1. Military musicians from across the country attend the workshop each year for world-class performances, lectures, and masterclasses.
