149th MEB promotes newest Lt. Col.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 14, 2010)–Kentucky National Guard’s 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade held a promotion ceremony for Lt. Col. Todd C. Neal at the Fairgrounds Armory in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 14.
 
Neal transferred from the Alabama National Guard to 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry as a  lieutenant.  He commanded an infantry company within the battalion then branch transferred to military intelligence and commanded the special forces MI detachment.  From there he was assigned to various positions within Joint Forces Headquarters before being assigned to the MEB two years ago.  Neal reverted back to being an infantry officer when he was assigned as the brigade deputy S-3, or operations officer. 
Col. Scott A. Campbell, 149th MEB commander, said he’s very happy to have Neal on his team. 

“We rescued him from the intelligence side of the house and are thankful he’s on board with us for the long haul,”  Campbell said referencing the possible mobilization of the brigade next summer.

Neal thanked everyone for their continued support in his career, specifically his parents, Marilyn and Ron Neal, who were also in attendance.

“I’ve never been to a promotion before,” said Marilyn.  “It was so neat to see all the people he works with be here  to support him,” she said excitedly.
